NEET 2026 Overview

  • The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is India’s single largest undergraduate medical entrance examination, conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is the gateway for admission to MBBS, BDS, BSc Nursing, AYUSH, BVSc & AH, and other allied medical courses in government and private institutions across the country. NEET is held once a year in offline (pen-and-paper) mode and is available in 13 language.

NEET 2026 Eligibility Criteria

  • Nationality: Indian Citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and Foreign Nationals are eligible.
  • Age Limit: Minimum 17 years as of December 31, 2026 (born on or before 31.12.2009). No upper age limit.
  • Educational Qualification: Must have passed or be appearing in Class 12 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English.
  • Minimum Marks:
    • General: 50% in PCB (Physics, Chemistry, Biology)
    • OBC/SC/ST: 40% in PCB
    • PwD: 45% in PCB
  • Additional Criteria: Candidates appearing for the qualifying exam in 2026 are also eligible to apply

NEET 2026 Application Process

  • Mode: Online only, via the official NEET website.
  • Steps:
  1. Register on the official NEET portal.
  2. Fill the online application form with personal, academic, and contact details.
  3. Upload required documents (photograph, signature, etc.).
  4. Pay the application fee (General: ₹1,700; OBC: ₹1,600; Reserved: ₹1,000)
  5. Download and print the confirmation page for future reference.
